I bring over a decade of experience as an operator and investor, having partnered with smaller businesses in Canada, Europe, and the USA, most recently as a Founding Partner at a leading independent investment firm.

I am authentic and reliable, and have built my career on genuine relationships. I believe that trust is built, not given, and that it has to be demonstrated before it can be extended. I show up the same way in every room — whether I'm across the table from a founder, working alongside a management team, or making a commitment to a team member. Consistency is the key and I love sharing stories of my approach in action.

I have seen what exceptional looks like and firmly believe that people are the foundation of exceptional businesses. Financial output is important, but to really understand a business, you have to understand its people and its culture.

A little more about Joel.

I have lived in both Canada and the UK and have travelled extensively to diligence businesses and meet with operators and investors around the world. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family, spending much of my youth around my mother's autism services business, and enjoyed the strategy and growth discussions that often occurred at the dinner table.. I completed my Master's in Biotechnology from the University of Toronto and am a CFA charterholder.

I am the proud father of one daughter and play an active role in the local community as Co-Chair of a local daycare.
